Tanzania is in Africa. Its capital is Dodoma. It is at 6° 00' South, 35° 00' East. Tanzania has an area of 945,087 square kilometres (364,900 square miles). The population is 42,746,620. This population is from a 2011 estimate.

Economy

Government
Legislative offices have been transferred to Dodoma. Tanzania plans Dodoma to be the new national capital. The National Assembly now meets there on regular basis.
Education
In the year 2002, the literacy rate was 69.4%. This definition of literacy is portion of the population over 15 years of age, that can read and write. This literacy rate counts only fluency in Swahili, English, and Arabic.
Society
People here speak Arabic, English, and Swahili. Religions beliefs here include Christian, local religions, and Muslim.
Kiswahili (Swahili) is the native language of the Bantu people living in Zanzibar and nearby coastal Tanzania. Although Kiswahili is Bantu in structure and origin, its vocabulary draws on a variety of sources, including Arabic and English. It has become the common language of central and eastern Africa. The first language of most people is one of the local languages.
